Learn the essential techniques and construction methods used to take you from basic sewing knowledge to confidently constructing garments.

This course is designed to give you a strong foundation in sewing through guided demonstrations, practice exercises, and hands-on projects. You’ll learn more than 25 hand and machine sewing, seam, and finishing techniques, 4 different collar constructions, closures, shaping techniques, pockets, zippers, hems, and more.

The demonstrations in this course are taught using a Juki industrial sewing machine. However, the techniques you learn can be applied to many different sewing machines. If you need help with something specific to your machine, such as threading or basic operation, let me know and I’ll do my best to help you work through it.

You’ll also complete 4 garment projects using downloadable patterns. I’ll walk you through each project step by step, from printing and assembling your pattern to cutting your fabric and constructing the finished garment.

You’ll build your skills progressively, learning individual techniques first and then seeing how those techniques come together in actual garment construction.
